5 Things To Do In Fairfield County This September – September is here, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the last lingering days of summer! There are tons of fun things happening in the area this month: concerts, art shows, family outings and more to help make this September a blast! Just because school has started doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the weekends, and to help with that we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite events and activities going on in the Fairfield County area during September. 1. Labor Day at the Zoo, Sept. 1, Beardsley Zoo: End the summer months by exploring the zoo and saying goodbye to the zoo’s summertime guests – the three visiting camels! While you’re there, visit the other animals and enjoy the last few days of summer. Learn about admission and other details by visiting the zoo’s website.
2. Look And See: Into The Deep, Sept. 10, 12:30 p.m., Bruce Museum: It’s never too soon for your little ones to start learning about the wonders of the ocean! This program is especially designed for children ages 3-5 years and their adult caregivers and lets them explore the museum through hands-on experiences and stories, and then make their own deep sea creature! Stamford Museum & Nature Center Farm Market, every Sunday through Sept. 14, 10 a.m., Stamford Museum & Nature Center: Enjoy the last of the best seasonal produce, flowers, homemade local goods and more, plus join in on the free educational activities led by one of the staff members. 4. An Evening With Willie Nelson And Family, Sept. 17, 5:30 p.m., Ridgefield Playhouse: Want to hear some great music and support the arts? This gala benefitting the Ridgefield Playhouse will feature music legend Willie Nelson, plus include a silent auction and tastings from the best local restaurants. 5. “Meerkats” Special Exhibit, Sept. 19-Jan. 4, Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk: Do your kids love Timon from the Lion King? Are they interested in learning about animals?
