Candlewood Lake

Lake Lillinonah in Bridgewater and Brookfield CTLake Lillinonah

 

This lake is very different from Candlewood Lake, in use and formation.  It was created by completion of the Shapaug Dam in the 1950s erected for flood control and hydroelectric production.  There are some lake communities along the shores in addition to a large number of estate homes. Lake Zoar in Newtown and Southbury CT

Bridgewater - waterfront (2)This lake was created by CLu0026amp;P in the 1920s and currently lies between the Shapaug Dam and the Stevenson Dam along the Housatonic River.  Lake Zoar is known for fishing and recreation.  There are two state parks along its shores and four boat launches.  Similar to Lake Lillinonah, the wild life is preserved and you will find many canoes and kayaks making use of this lake.  There are many opportunities to own water front porperties on Lake Zoar – see the water front link below.  For additional Lake information select the link below:

Lake Waramaug in Connecticut
