CHOWDAFEST – The Souper Bowl For Foodies

When: February 2, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

Admission: $5 – $10

Calling all foodies in the area, this one is for you! Head out to Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport to sample more than 30 different chowders, soups and bisques. This event is family-friendly and the kids will even leave with free chef hats, stickers and ice cream.

 

Curtain Call’s WINTERSTOCK

When: February 17 – 21, 9:30 – 4:00 pm

Admission: $125

For children ages 6-16, this is the perfect way to cure those winter blues. Head out to Curtain Call, Inc. in Stamford for full-day activities for a variety of curriculums. Learn the ins and outs of improv, musical theatre, acting for modern stage and so much more. Students will have the opportunity to participate in one day or all four days of the program.

 

The Budding Zoologist with Animal Embassy

When: February 17 – 21, 2:00 – 4:00 pm

Admission: $125 – $140

This event is for children in grades K through 3. They will get an inside view of the public exhibit at the Animal Embassy in Stamford. There are more than 100 different species, representing birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, arachnids and insects, and the participants will have an amazing hands-on experience with each one.

 

Connecticut Beardsley Zoo’s Family Events

When: February 24

Admission: $10 – $12

Bring the family out to Connecticut Beardsley Zoo for a fun-filled day with nature’s finest creatures. More than 300 animals, representing primarily North and South American species, call the zoo home. You will have the opportunity to  learn about our many endangered and threatened species, which include the Amur (Siberian) tiger, Andean condor, Ocelot, Red wolf, Maned wolf, and Golden lion tamarin.

 

Reflections And Undercurrents: Ernest Roth And Printmaking In Venice, 1900-1940

When: February 25, 5:00 – 6:00 pm

Admission: Free

This exhibit features prints by the German-born American painter and etcher Ernest Roth (1879-1964) and his contemporaries, including John Taylor Arms (1887-1953) and Joseph Pennell (1860-1926), exploring the connections between the art they made in early 20th-century Venice.
