5 Things to do in Fairfield County, CT This August – Happy August! Can you believe that summer is nearly over and school is about to start? While back to school season is approaching, it isn’t too late to enjoy some late summer fun with the whole family. There are tons of fun things to do all around Fairfield County in August that are guaranteed to make some lasting memories and make your kids excited for the month ahead. We’ve listed our favorite events and activities of the month below. Check them out and have a great rest of the summer!

1. CT Free Shakespeare Presents As You Like It – July 30-August 3, American Shakespeare Festival Theatre: Introduce the kids to the stylings of the Bard at this free outdoor showing of As You Like It. While true to Shakespeare’s 400-year-old language and intent, the action takes place in 1968—a great twist to a classic play. Learn more at this website.

2. Lost and Found Circus – The Barnum Museum, through August 31: Learn about the history of P.T. Barnum’s Circus and enjoy this exhibit of circus scenes made entirely from found objects. 3. Zoo Patrol –  throughout August, Beardsley Zoo: Does your child want to learn more about the zoo and the animals who live there? 5. Family Movie Screening – The Lego Movie, August 16, 6 p.m., Shady Beach: Head out to the beach for a nighttime movie and other activities!
