This lake is very different from Candlewood Lake, in use and formation.It was created by completion of the Shapaug Dam in the 1950s erected for flood control and hydroelectric production.There are some lake communities along the shores in addition to a large number of estate homes. Lake Zoar in Newtown and Southbury CT

Lake Waramaug in Connecticut
